Part Time Finance Manager Vacancy
Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst is a single-entity not-for-profit business which provides laboratory and office accommodation for an impressive array of Life Science companies engaged in cutting-edge research in Stevenage. We are recruiting a qualified Finance Manager, working three days a week.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a highly impactful role that will give the successful candidate responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function and management of a small team. You will support senior management with accurate reporting, forecasting and insight, while ensuring strong governance and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and mentoring the Finance Assistant
- Oversee all transactional accounting activities including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll support.
- Setting high standards for accuracy and integrity.
- Producing concise and impactful monthly management accounts and variance analysis
- Taking ownership of the key drivers such as occupancy, income, and service recharges
- Cashflow and investment management
- Managing the budgeting & forecasting processes
- Production of the statutory accounts and management of the year end audit process
- Monitoring and financial oversight of capital projects
- Business partnering with key Stakeholders within the organisation to challenge, influence and support where required
- Improve/implement processes and financial controls
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Leading certain small financial projects on an ad hoc basis
What we’re looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong background in operational finance
- Proven background in managing a month end process
- Ability to communicate financial insights to non-finance audiences
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Prior experience of Xero is desirable
- 3 days onsite
