Welcome Synthistat to SBC!

We’re delighted to welcome Synthistat to the SBC community and our Lab Hotel.

Led by CEO and Founder Zak Hassan, Co-founder and Chair Arfan Afzal, and Senior Scientific Advisor, Dr George Okafo, Synthistat is developing innovative approaches to improve the manufacture of advanced cell and gene cancer therapies and exploring new treatments for cancers where existing therapies have had limited success.

CEO and Founder Zak said:

“Our HDAC-based platform is designed to unlock new opportunities in both advanced therapy manufacturing and oncology. We are developing technologies to improve the efficiency and scalability of gene therapy manufacturing through enhanced viral vector production, while also advancing innovative multi-target therapeutic strategies for difficult-to-treat cancers including acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

By combining manufacturing innovation with novel therapeutic approaches, we aim to accelerate the development of more effective and accessible treatments for patients. We’re excited to be joining the SBC community as we take the next steps in our journey”.
