Sally Ann Forsyth joins panel at Eastern Powerhouse’s inaugural conference
SBC’s CEO, Dr Sally Ann Forsyth OBE, has joined a panel of business leaders from the east at The Eastern Powerhouse’s inaugural conference.
The Eastern Powerhouse is an independent organisation which is focused on promoting the East of England as a global leader of innovation in technology and life sciences. It supports sustainable business growth to improve opportunities for people in the region by calling for further investment to unlock its potential.
Sally Ann, who joined speakers from across different sectors in the area, talked about the ongoing success of Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst occupiers who have collectively raised in excess of £2.9bn in investment over the last 10 years. Companies on the SBC campus have attracted venture capitalist investment in biotech at a similar level to that of the Cambridge cluster in recent years.
Sally Ann commented, “It was a pleasure to be part of the Eastern Powerhouse’s conference and to help address ways of attracting government and private investment. We’re proud to have created a collaborative environment in SBC that helps life science businesses accelerate their growth and contribute to the local and wider economy.”
