Herts Chamber of Commerce have been designated by the Department for Education as the lead Employer Representative Body (ERB) in the county to deliver the LSIP for Herts.

LSIPs are a key part of the Government’s transformational vision of an adult skills system where businesses, particularly SMEs, are given a much stronger voice in local skills planning. This will help ensure provision is more responsive to emerging and changing skills needs and can be tailored to the challenges and opportunities most relevant to the county. Key to the success of the Herts LSIP will include collaboration with all local stakeholders committed to supporting greater levels of employer engagement in skills planning, orienting delivery and funding accordingly.

To be successful, the Herts LSIP must be business-led to ensure people’s skills remain relevant and young people and adults can access training for sustainable, in demand and emerging employment opportunities in Herts across our 10 chosen sectors.

In addition to the LSIP survey, which in case you haven’t seen can be found here we are holding ten focus group panels w/c 6 February 2023. These are open to businesses in the sector and region to attend and give their thoughts and views, which in addition to the survey, will help formulate our response to the Secretary of State for Education later in the year.

The panel for the Life Sciences sector will meet on 8 February 2022.

To register, email John Woodruffe.
