Gyroscope: Vision for Life
Gyroscope Therapeutics is building something special – a company to preserve people’s sight and fight the devastating impact of blindness around the world. And if we are successful, our gene therapies and surgical devices will offer people the chance to see what they otherwise would have missed.
To be successful we need the right people. People who have passion for helping patients. People who can work as one toward a common goal, have fun and together bring forward the best ideas. People who celebrate success and embrace failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. If you are one of these people, we would love to meet you.
The Financial Accounting Partner (FAP) is a key member of the Financial Accounting & Reporting Team, and reports into the US Finance Lead.
The role spans the range of financial accounting activities, from transaction processing such as Accounts Payable, Banking, Time & Attendance, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Tax and VAT, Payroll through to financial compliance, supporting the preparation of the financial & management accounts, and maintaining the ERP system.
There are two entities in the Gyroscope Therapeutics Group (UK and US based), and correspondingly there are two FAP roles which broadly mirror each other. The FAP therefore works in collaboration with his/her counterpart in the other group company, and also with the Finance Business Partner for their own entity. External interactions include auditors, banks, T&E partners, key suppliers, and key customers.
In addition to pure financial accounting activities, the FAP will also support budget holders in understanding their cost centre actual spend against budget, and provide insights into variance, and mitigating any overspends. Leveraging this interaction and knowledge, the FAP will also support in preparing budgets.
