Cell and Molecular Biologists - Biology Team

Our Centre for Therapeutics Discovery (CTD) in Stevenage operates at the interface between academic research and the drug discovery industry. We take novel targets and generate lead stage small molecules and therapeutic antibodies for indications with unmet medical need.
Within the Biology and Biotherapeutics teams we currenty have a number of fixed term Scientist positions available for one year to provide support for our on-going drug discovery projects.
In these lab-based roles, you will work as part of a team of biologists, collaborating with internal and external scientists to establish cell based and biochemical assays to support hit-to-lead chemistry and antibody generation/humanisation programmes. You will also conduct experiments to validate targets, define and confirm mechanism of action and establish disease linkage.
Who you are
You will be qualified to BSc, Msc or PhD level with relevant laboratory experience and technical knowledge in the areas of cell and molecular biology. You will have expertise in culturing cell lines and primary cells and at developing and running biochemical and cell-based assays. Experience in co-culture techniques, gene-editing technologies, immuno-oncology assays, phenotypic screening, the use of high-content imaging equipment, FACS analysis and data management and analysis software would also be advantageous.
