Do I have to attend in person?

Some of the events including the Launch and Demo Day will be in person, others will be online depending on the speaker.

Do I have to attend all the events?

Yes. Whilst the programme is offered at no charge, it takes a lot of resource to organise and curate the programme and we want to make sure those taking part get the best from it. Attendance is monitored. We ask you to attend a minimum of 80% of the sessions. We won't be able to accept a company attending less than this onto the demo day.

Do you offer funding?

DATA offers non-dilutive funding of £10,000 to the selected best pitch at demo day. However, DATA is aimed at getting your start-up investment ready. We will offer introductions to investors and industry professionals to help you achieve funding.

Do you only accept start-ups with a focus on data-driven drug discovery/advanced therapeutics?

Yes. The programme, our invited experts and network are specifically geared towards these areas so, in order for start-ups to fully benefit from DATA, we only take applications from start-ups focussed on these areas. Many of the workshops for the data-driven drug discovery and advanced therapeutics strands will be delivered in common whilst bespoke workshops on the areas where they differ (such as regulations) will be organised separately.

What should your pitch deck include?

  • Company purpose / mission statement
  • The market need you are addressing
  • The solution/technology you are providing to address the market need
  • Competitor and current substitutes
  • Market size and opportunity
  • Business or revenue model
  • Traction (who is interested in your product, letters of intent etc.)
  • IP (if applicable) / competitive advantage
  • The team and board (if applicable)
  • Roadmap and milestones.
