Dave Mudd, Operations Director, will be retiring from Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst (SBC) after 14 years of outstanding contribution.
He has led and mentored his team to deliver an excellent service to our occupier companies as they grow, from management of the laboratory and office facilities enabling companies to scale-up seamlessly, to provision of access to and training on SBC’s shared equipment and help for businesses on site with their health and safety strategy protocols.
Dave has been with the business since its inception in 2011, supporting its development from a singular empty Incubator building to the award-winning science park that it is today, with over 45 businesses and 1,000 employees. During this time, Dave played an instrumental role in winning the bid to bring the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to SBC, as well as the resulting construction project for its manufacturing centre which has attracted many therapeutics businesses to the region. LifeArc also enlisted his help to transform the SBC Accelerator building into an outstanding facility to help them deliver cutting edge R&D. He also led on the design and construction of Spark building, which rapidly delivered the grown-on space that our occupiers required to retain them in Stevenage.
SBC CEO, Dr Sally Ann Forsyth OBE, says
“The Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst’s Board and management team would like to thank Dave for all his dedication to SBC. He has made an outstanding contribution to the success of the Campus and developing operations since its very beginning in 2011.
He has been a fantastic colleague that we have enjoyed working with throughout the years and will greatly miss when he leaves in the Spring next year. I wish him all the best for his retirement, and we look forward to keeping in touch via the golf course!”
