What is the DATA programme?

DATA stands for Data-driven Advanced Therapeutics Accelerator. It’s an accelerator programme focused on data-enabled drug discovery and advanced therapeutics. Training and mentoring will be provided for biotech start-ups to help them develop ideas, build momentum and give them the skills to move to the next phase.

The DATA accelerator programme will run in two parallel strands: one in data-enabled drug discovery and the other in advanced therapeutics. Each will have its own bespoke workshops. We have unique access to experts in relevant fields who can help start-ups to commercialise their ideas.

Who is behind the programme?

The DATA accelerator is designed and managed by Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst. We are committed to supporting faster and more efficient delivery of innovations that improve peoples’ lives. We create a supportive environment to help start-ups achieve this.

Who is it aimed at?

The DATA accelerator programme is aimed at early-stage entrepreneurs looking to develop their innovations in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment. The programme is designed for companies with:

  • a focus on drug discovery, genomics or advanced therapeutics
  • a minimum viable product
  • pre-series A funding
  • at least two founders.

How long is the programme and what does it cost?

The programme will be provided at no financial cost and will run for 18+ weeks.

At Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst we have a proven track record in supporting companies to develop and commercialise cutting edge therapeutics. We are home to a growing cluster of start-up companies which together have raised £2.9bn in grants, equity investments, IPOs/FPOs and acquisitions.

£10,000 award

In addition to the panels and workshops provided by the DATA accelerator, one start-up company will receive a £10,000 non-dilutive award.
