James Wheatcroft

James Wheatcroft is the head of Finance for Research and Medicinal Sciences & Technology at GSK R&D – the role is accountable for financial management to GSK’s early stage drug discovery and related technologies.

During his career with GSK, James has held roles in Corporate, Commercial and R&D, including Head of Corporate Development, a series of commercial market FD roles in Asia, Aus/NZ and UK/Ireland, as well as Financial Controller for GSK R&D immediately prior to his current appointment in 2019.

James is a scientist by training and first joined GSK as a research chemist after completing his BSc at Bristol University.  He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
